Fashion design duo up for international award

 

A huge congratulations to Agi & Sam, who have been nominated for The Woolmark Company's International Woolmark Prize.

The dynamic duo behind the acclaimed fashion label are University of Lincoln graduate Sam Cotton, BA (Hons) Illustration, 2008, and his business partner, Agi Mdumulla, who have worked with designers such as Karl Lagerfeld and Alexander McQueen, designed a collection for Topman, and collaborated with producer and musician Labrinth.

Auto-loving alumnus makes Whatcar? debut

 

Lincoln School of Journalism graduate Darren Moss, BA (Hons) Journalism, 2011, has already worked for some of the auto industry’s top names; including a placement with Top Gear in 2011.

Darren now works as Digital Reporter for the award-winning Autocar brand, and this month, he has made his video debut for the UK's biggest car-buying brand, WhatCar?

Comedy duo hit the airwaves with BBC Radio 1 debut

 

Notable comedy duo and University of Lincoln alumni Jack Howard, BA (Hons) Media Production, 2013, and Dean Dobbs, BA (Hons) Film and Television,2014, hosted their first live show on BBC Radio 1 earlier this month.

The pair presented the hour-long show at 9pm on Monday 20th April, which featured ‘Northern Twang’, ‘The Right Opinion’ and an exclusive new video.

Journalism graduate scoops top award

 

A University of Lincoln alumna was awarded the title of Student Journalist of the Year at the Midlands Media Student Awards this month.

Natasha Turney, BA (Hons) Journalism, 2014, won the accolade for her 10-minute film, 'Tears of a Clown', which showcases the hardships of people who work in circuses. The film also won the top spot in the Culture Category.

Award-winning furniture designer lands six-page spread

 

Award-winning furniture designer and University of Lincoln alumnus Sebastian Cox, BA (Hons) Furniture, 2009 and MA Design, 2011,has been featured in a six-page spread in Crafts Magazine this month.

One of Sebastian’s designs was recently hand-picked by Sir Terence Conran as his object of 2015, and he has also just announced his collaboration with deVOL Kitchens.

Lincoln grad shows award-winning photography in London

 

Lincoln School of Film and Media graduate, Steve Smailes, BA (Hons) Media Production, 2012, will be showcasing his award-winning photography at an exhibition in London this week, after winning ‘Here To Be Heard’; a national competition sponsored by Relentless energy drink.

The exhibition, which runs from Tuesday 28th April – Tuesday 5th May, will feature a number of images from events photographed by Steve over the last few years, and will be held at the new flagship Relentless store on Denmark Street, in central London.
