Louise (now 33) graduated from the University of Lincoln this September (2016) and was invited to give the student oration in the graduation ceremony at Lincoln Cathedral on behalf of the University’s College of Science.
Reflecting on how she balanced her studies alongside her work and family commitments, she explains: “It was definitely the most challenging three years of my life. Having two small children, working and finding the time to study was really difficult and I really couldn’t have done it without the help I had.
“Staff and lecturers at the University were really understanding, especially when I had Freddie. Giving me the space to be a mum and offering me flexibility when I needed it meant that I could continue my education and complete my work to the standard I needed to.
“Throughout the whole of the three years I’ve had the incredible support of my husband and family and I really can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done.
”Having successfully completed her degree, Louise is still heavily involved in the running of the family farm, while taking a lead role alongside her husband as Operations Director at their social media marketing agency, Knapton Wright Ltd. Freddie is now at nursery whilst his big sister, Millie, has just started primary school.
