Lincoln alumni celebrate double award win

Two graduates from the University of Lincoln are celebrating after scooping awards at the inaugural Angels Bring Business awards.

Zoe Easey and Sandra Bird were named as winners at the women’s networking group awards, held at The Lincolnshire Showground on 12th December. The ceremony congratulates Lincolnshire’s businesswomen on their outstanding achievements across five categories.

Zoe Easey (Media Production, 2007) co-director of local digital media agency Epix Media, won the 'Angel on the Wire Digital Business of the Year' award, while Sandra Bird (Acupuncture, 2010), whose practice An Shen Acupuncture is on Beaumont Fee, won the event’s top award when she was named as the 'Angel on Fire Business Woman of the Year'.

Zoe said: “We had a fantastic afternoon at the Angels Bring Business 2013 awards, and the team at Epix Media are incredibly proud here to have won the Digital Business of the Year category!

We’ve worked incredibly hard over the last three years to build a growing local business founded on a very good reputation. The win has been a real boost for us.”

Sandra added: “I was thrilled to bits to be nominated for this award and to actually win it was just amazing.  I finally decided what I wanted to be as a grown-up at the age of 44 and started on my degree course at Lincoln in 2007, setting up my practice in 2010, and this award is a wonderful recognition of all the hard work that has gone into the last six years. It’s true what they say, it's never too late!”
