Alumni Weekend 2014
13th – 15th June 2014

 

Join us for a special weekend of activities, nostalgia, exploring new developments and a chance to catch up with old friends and lecturers as you rediscover this beautiful city.

Special guest Jason Bradbury (The Gadget Show) will open the weekend, coinciding with the Lincoln Festival of fun, food and entertainments to suit all ages. All alumni are welcome and bring your friends and family too. 

This is a free event but places for some activities are limited so book your place today!

Friday 13th June (from 2.30pm)

  • Welcome to the weekend
  • Guided campus tours
    • A chance to visit all your old halls and lecture rooms and all the latest developments and buildings around the Brayford campus. 
  • Meet 3D printed robot MARC & 'emotional' robot ERWIN
    • Created to help understand how relationships can be developed between humans and androids. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about how robots can act as companions.  Limited spaces available, book your place today.   
  • Oculus Rift – the latest in virtual reality
    • The future of gaming?  The Oculus Rift represents the next stage in immersive experiences. Try out the latest software before it hits the mass market next year.
  • Art, Architecture and Design Degree Shows
    • A fantastic showcase of student and staff projects. 
  • Frame it!
    • Have your picture taken with friends and family in our giant frame.
  • Afternoon Tea with the Vice Chancellor
    • A chance to meet with the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mary Stuart, and some of your old tutors for tea and cake. Limited spaces avaliable, book your place today

  • Alumni reunion evening
    • Join us at the Tower Bar for special evening of live music with Elliott Morris and graduate of the University, Jack Shaw. It’s the perfect chance to catch up with old friends and reminisce about your time at University.

Saturday 14th June

  • Coffee and Danish pastries  
    • Join us for a coffee and Danish pastries over breakfast. Limited spaces available, book your place today.
  • Taster classes 
    • Lecturers from the University will be giving a series of bite-size talks on a variety of stimulating topics including Medieval Lincoln and its intriguing Bishops. Find out more here.
  • Lincoln Festival
    • Enjoy live music, dancing, a carnival procession and entertainment to suit all ages throughout the day. There will be street stalls, have-a-go sporting activities and rides along the Brayford Waterfront, perfect for the whole family.
  • Firework display
    • The firework finale is not to be missed!  
  • World Cup live on the big screen
    • Watch England’s first game of the tournament on the giant screen in the Engine Shed.

Sunday 15th June

  • Farewell
    • Take advantage of exclusive discounts on breakfast before you head back home.
