On graduating from the University of Lincoln, you have joined a network of people from across the globe. Some of them are featured below.

At each Graduation ceremony, we also honour individuals who have excelled in their chosen field. William T Warrener (Fine Art, 1800's) - Famous Artist

William T Warrener - Fine Art, 1800's   

Painter William Tom Warrener (1861 – 1934) studied at the Lincoln School of Art, the University of Lincoln’s oldest predecessor institution. He exhibited eight works at the Royal Academy and in 1895, was elected as a member of the Royal Society of British Artists, but is perhaps best known for being the subject of his friend Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's painting L'Anglais au Moulin Rouge (1892).

Juan Watterson (BA Hons Management, 2001) - Minister of Home Affairs, House of Keys

Juan Watterson – BA (Hons) Management, 2001  

In 2006 Juan became the second youngest elected politician ever in the Isle of Man’s parliament at 26 and is currently the youngest member of the House of Keys. In 2011 he became the Minister of Home Affairs, responsible for tackling social issues such as drug abuse and prison reform.


Vicki Phillips (Doctorate in Education, 2002) - Director, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

Vicki Phillips - Doctorate in Education, 2002   Vicki Phillips is a director at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Vicki has committed her career to increasing educational opportunities for young people, has worked with the U.S. Office of Education inWashington, and has been a middle and high school teacher.

Sam Cotton (BA Hons Illustration, 2008) - Director and Designer, Agi & Sam
Sam Cotton  


Sam Cotton is a Director and Designer at Agi & Sam. The design duo won the British Fashion Award 2013 for Emerging Talent in Menswear. Their exclusive menswear designs are stocked in Liberty, Harvey Nichols and Topman as well as numerous other shops in the UK and around the world.


Manoj Sharma (MBA, 2011) - Head of Projects, Tata Steel

Manoj Sharma - MBA, 2011    

Engineer Manoj Sharma grew up just a few miles from Tata Steel in Jamshedpur,India, where his father and cousins worked. After completing his MBA at Lincoln, he returned to India to become Head of Projects for Tata’s huge new greenfield integrated plant.
